FYI: School districts will continue to have discretion over whether they provide sexual health education to students. We will not be incorporating the new standards in grades K-5. We will continue teaching our normal curriculum in both JH and HS Health classes.

Crab Orchard CUSD #3 would like to give a huge congratulations to our Junior High Clay Breakers team. On Saturday, they competed in Sparta at the SIYSSA ATA/US Open and won 1st place! This is their fourth, 1st place win! Anthony Williams and Kyle Erwin each shot one 25 straight round. Each shooter on the squad received a medal along with the trophy. The JV Squad was very close for a medal as well, missing out by 32 birds. The JV squad had Tanner Bailey shooting two 25 straight rounds along with Hunter Parks shooting one 25 straight round. Each of the two squads shot the highest scores of the season by a substantial amount...awesome job!

On Monday, May 16th, Crab Orchard CUSD #3 is going to have a hat day to help with expenses for the family of Maci Harmon. Maci is a smart, funny, energetic 2nd grader, here at Crab Orchard, who has recently been diagnosed with a Craniopharyngioma Brain Tumor. It is unsure how many procedures she will have to go through, but the one positive is that it is an operable brain tumor and hopefully they will be able to remove it all! May is also brain cancer/tumor awareness month so on Monday, students are asked to wear the color gray. If students would like to participate in the hat day, the cost is $1.00, but donations will also be accepted. Crab Orchard is a wonderful community and we are blessed to be able to support one another.
