Ben Kissing made 12 of his 13 free throws and scored 22 points to lead Crab Orchard to a 74-67 win over Gallatin County in a Greater Egyptian Conference boys basketball game Friday night.
Drew Johnson put in 20 points, including four free throws down the strech. Caleb Perry and Hunter Arnold both knocked down key 3pointers in the fourth quarter to help the Trojans seal it.
“It was a great team effort,” said Trojans coach Jon Brown. “It’s always a challenge to play at Gallatin County.”
Perry, a sophomore, finished with 19 points.
“Caleb really stepped up and had a big game,” Brown said. “Without his play the outcome could have been different.”
The Trojans are now 18-1 overall and 8-0 in the GEC. Gallatin County fell to 11-6 and 7-1.
Crab Orchard plays Thompsonville at the GEC Tournament on Monday night at Southeastern Illinois College. The game followed Hardin County taking on Pope County at 6:30 p.m.
