Trojans Capture Conrad Allen Tourney Title

Drew Johnson dropped in 28 points to lead Crab Orchard’s boys basketball team to a 56-44 win over Cisne in the championship game of the 58th annual Conrad Allen Holiday Tournament on Saturday night.
Johnson didn’t score in the first quarter, but poured in 10 points in both the second and third quarters. The senior guard then hit 5 of 7 free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Trojans secure the win.
Ben Kissing added 14 points and Hunter Arnold had nine for Crab Orchard, which stayed unbeaten at 14-0.
Cisney (11-3) held an 8-7 lead after the first quarter and the Trojans took a 26-24 lead into halftime. Crab Orchard led 41-34 after three periods.
In Friday’s session, the Trojans rolled past Edwards County, 53-25, with Hunter Arnold leading the way with 17 points. All but three of those came in the third quarter, when the Trojans went on a 27-6 run. Johnson added 16 points, Kissing had 10 and Coty Wece chipped in eight Friday night.
Johnson, Kissing and Wece were all named to the 12-person all-tournament team.
Crab Orchard is now off until Jan. 3 when it travels to Galatia.
