Trojans Roll to 3rd in GEC Tourney

Harrisburg, Ill. —

Drew Johnson rained in four 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to lead the Crab Orchard Trojans to a 73-46 win over Gallatin County in the third-place game of the Greater Egyptian Conference Tournament.

Ben Kissing scored 16 points, including an 8-of-9 performance at the foul line, while Adam Perry added 13 points for the Trojans, who were 18-of-31 overall from the stripe.

Crab Orchard jumped out to a 22-9 lead in the game originally scheduled for Saturday, then went on a 17-7 run to take a 39-16 lead into the locker rooms at Southeastern Illinois College.

Lorence Killen gets the deuce and the abuse.

Lorence Killen added seven points, while Jordan McGuire had five, Nathan Dorries four, Coty Wece three and Brandon Boester two for the Trojans.

Crab Orchard improved to 19-3 with the victory.

In the championship game, Carrier Mills took care of NCOE, 50-39.

Crab Orchard plays at home Tuesday night against Thompsonville in a regular GEC contest starting at 6 p.m.

The Trojans will take part in the SEC-GEC Shootout on Saturday back at Southeastern Illinois College. Crab Orchard is slated to play Century at 5 p.m.
